An emotive scene occurred at the induction of the third convocation of Haridev Joshi University of Journalism and Mass Communication (HJU) that was held at Jaipur on March 25, 2026. Student Sara Ismail went viral when she informed the university about how she sarcastically told her when it came time to collect her degree, "HJU ka bezatti karke izzat dene ka bohot bohot shukriya," and received her degree in the hand of the Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa.
The riot was the result of the anger of the students as the administration initially gave gold medalists the first available seats on the stage to issue the degrees, after which others would be left empty despite hours of standing in line with their families. The agitation broke out, and with the slogans, students went to the extent of blocking the deputy CM's vehicle to ensure that all the graduates were rewarded with their degrees.
The comment, subsequently, according to Sara, was indicative of a lot of frustration over wasted time and felt disrespectful. The events that took place at the Rajasthan International Centre have led to a lot of debate on the internet, with some commending the bravery of the student and others lamenting the fact that the formal functions were disrupted. It brings out the current problems of student dissatisfaction in higher institutions of learning.
