A fresh political row erupted after AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal remarked that protesters from the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar had not merely gathered to demand the resignation of then Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

In a video, Kejriwal said, using crude language, that the demonstrators had come to “thok” (take on) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reflecting anger against the government.

The Bharatiya Janata Party hit back strongly. BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya alleged that the protest was a politically sponsored campaign linked to AAP and aimed at targeting the Prime Minister. He claimed students were used as “cannon fodder.” Former Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva condemned Kejriwal’s language as indecent and recalled his past apologies to BJP leaders.

The exchange has intensified the ongoing AAP-BJP war of words over the student-led agitation.
