A viral Instagram video has sparked conversations about women’s safety after a man dressed as a woman to experience street harassment firsthand. Shared by the handle ‘gouravbytes’, the clip shows the man putting on a suit, covering his face, applying eye makeup and heading out on a scooty.

Within minutes, he was repeatedly stared at and followed by random men. In the video, he can be heard saying he felt so unsafe that he started shivering with fear — “Bhot dar lag raha hain.” The experiment was intended to highlight the everyday risks many women face in public spaces.

The reel quickly gained hundreds of thousands of views. While some viewers called the experience “embarrassing” and reflective of a harsh reality for women in India, others debated the methods of such social experiments. The video has once again brought attention to the persistent issue of eve-teasing and public safety concerns.
