The city's huge power outage caused major disruptions on the Rapid Metro on Saturday, leaving multiple trains stuck between stations in Gurugram. A large group of people was seen wading through the metro as they were seen off the system, resulting in many scenes in viral videos.

The disruption was in a busy area of Gurugram on the elevated metro line during rush hours. Train passengers reported "blackout in coaches, followed by services completely stopping." Using walkable, although not without danger, tracks until the metro could get to the nearest stations, authorities had no choice but to loan out and then ask passengers to leave.

Other officials of the Haryana government and metro have started their investigation to find out the cause of the power failure. A number of travelers voiced their dismay about safety worries and failure to have adequate emergency provisions. Also, there was major congestion on the roads because people had to travel by other means. Some parts of the metro are running, but the service is delayed. The event has once again brought up the issue of public transport in Gurugram, questioning its reliability.
