The Supreme Court of India has allowed the National Testing Agency (NTA) to declare the results of NEET-UG 2021 by staying the High Court order, in which the agency was to conduct the re-examination for two undergraduate medical candidates. The top court, in its judgment, said that about 16 lakh students cannot be detained for two students. On the other hand, the Supreme Court has stayed the Bombay High Court order asking NTA to conduct the re-examination.

Justice L Nageswara Rao, Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice BR. Gavai has issued a notice of this decision. In the order NTA was asked to conduct the re-examination for 2 students from Maharashtra who were given wrong answer sheets. SC Bench allowed NTA to release the result and had to settle with the fact that 2 students were prejudiced due to no fault of theirs. The results of 2 students will be checked later.

"We will issue notice and stay the HC's decision. We allow NTA to declare the result. There are 16 lakh students who are eagerly waiting for the result. We will see what we can do for these 2 students, the Supreme Court bench said. The Bombay High Court order said that the NEET exam should be conducted afresh for two students Vaishnavi Bhopali and Abhishek Shivaji, who alleged that they were given question papers and answer sheets with wrong serial numbers.

6 students faced the problem but 2 students paid attention to this problem only. Another 4 students answered 200 questions. SC has now issued notice to NTA in this regard. The matter will be heard next on 12 November 2021. The Center had moved the Supreme Court saying that even if the NTA is ready, the NTA cannot declare the result. The government appeals that this may affect undergraduate medical admissions as it may delay the admission process. The results will be declared at the end of this week. Candidates can check their result on the official website of NTA.
