Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also called upon citizens and organizations to practice ‘Work From Home’/WFH and opt for virtual meetings in all possible situations. This is an element of his nationwide austerity and fuel conservation drive in the midst of the current crisis in West Asia.

PM Modi urged people to limit the movement of people to their offices, particularly in the cities, to reduce the usage of petrol and diesel in his recent speech. He said that during the pandemic, WFH has worked well, and businesses should offer flexible remote working during the pandemic again.

Below are some of the salient points delivered by Modi in his advice:

  • Use virtual meetings instead of traveling to meet.
  • Support Blended work arrangements
  • minimizes office visits, which is not essential for the patient's functional ability.
  • Conservation of fuel and reduction of pollution. Energy saving and reducing emissions.

The intention of the appeal is to lessen dependency on foreign oil in India amidst skyrocketing oil prices in the face of the tensions in West Asia. According to experts, this can be one of the best ways to save foreign exchange if WFH is widely embraced to put economic stability back while in this difficult period.

The citizen and corporate sector have been summoned to a national task in a responsible manner.
