The fans of cricket attending the M Chinnaswamy Stadium to watch the first match of the IPL 2026 between the defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) can relax on March 28. To meet the high demand of the metro immediately after the match, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has increased the Namma Metro till 2 AM (early hours of March 29).
The last trains in the terminal stations are usually terminated by 11 PM, but the following recent changes have been implemented: Whitefield (Kadugodi) at 12.30 AM, Challaghatta at 12.45 AM, Silk Institute and Madavara at 12.45 AM, Bommasandra at 1.00 AM, and RV Road at 2.00 AM. The final train from Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station (Majestic) in all directions will be at 1:30 AM.
BMRCL has also secured more parking in 44 metro stations at nominal fees (2500 rupees in total, 250 to 300 rupees per head for 2-wheelers and cars, respectively) and is encouraging QR-based payment to access the metro within minutes. Another common report about RCB is that it will be providing free metro on the day of a match when a person has a ticket to watch the match. Such precautions are meant to ease the congestion along the roads and allow thousands of fans who are bound to attend the stadium to travel safely and comfortably.
