Saturday night's White House Correspondents' Dinner took a turn when gunshots sounded in the area outside the Washington Hilton hotel's ballroom. In footage, US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are swiftly ushered off the stage by the Secret Service, alongside Vice President JD Vance and cabinet secretaries.

The audience and reporters scrambled under tables as police rushed in guns drawn. The attack involved a man with multiple guns and knives who fired shots and attempted to rush the event and was arrested. An officer was wounded but had a bulletproof vest.

In his statement, Trump said everyone under government protection was safe. The dinner had to be cancelled in the commotion. The evacuation video is viral, as it shows how quickly the guards responded during the high-profile media dinner.
