In the middle of the current NEET controversy, a heartwrenching video has gone viral as the father of NEET aspirant 18-year-old Kahaan Patel, who took his own life on June 18, appeals for help. The father hailed from Gujarat and was holding a talk with the founder of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), Abhijeet Dipke.
The father cried when he showed his son's picture after Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan had termed some protesters of the NEET as the "B team of dehshatgard terrorists. " How can he talk like that? "Mera beta sab ke jaisa hi hai. "Show them my son," he said, pointing out that his wonderful son was being unfairly labeled.
The incident has raised fresh criticism against the government's attitude towards the NEET-UG problems, as there have been multiple reported instances of students committing suicide. The video was shared by Dipke, who questioned the minister's statement. The honest statements of the father resonate with many and have intensified the demand for accountability and reforms in the examination system as grief-stricken families are seeking justice.
