A horrific landslide shook the upland area of National Highway-5 near Bhabanagar in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, causing a shock in the region. The video, which many have called “evil,” showing people desperately running for their lives as huge rocks, little mud, and debris danced coming down from the mountainside, has gone viral.

Massive amounts of debris covered huge sections of the major highway in the landslide. Continued work being carried out on nearby private property possibly sparked the incident during a period of heavy monsoon activity, reports said.

Luckily, no heavy casualties have been reported as yet as people on location managed to avoid anything bad. The incident has blocked traffic on the important road. Local governments have asked people to be careful and are trying to clear out the road.

With the terrain of Himachal being especially prone to landslips, this inundation often occurs during monsoons. Continue to closely monitor the developing situation.
