Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe has ordered the sealing of M/s BG Goyal & Company, a spice and dry fruits shop in Pune’s Market Yard owned by Pravin Goyal, father of Siya Goyal. Siya is an accused in the high-profile Pune fort murder case of realtor Ketan Agarwal.

During the inspection, officials seized 4,172 kg of food products worth approximately Rs 8.14 lakh. The stock included turmeric powder of ‘Sant’ and ‘Sadhu’ brands, sesame seeds, and soybean chunks. Four samples were collected for laboratory testing over suspected labelling violations and possible adulteration.

The shop was ordered to suspend all business operations until further notice, pending lab results. FDA cited licence issues, including location mismatch and non-compliance with the Food Safety and Standards Act. The family has claimed the action amounts to harassment linked to the murder case, while officials maintain it is a routine enforcement drive unrelated to the criminal investigation.
