West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee abruptly left the stage during a rally in Bhabanipur on Saturday, claiming the loudspeakers from the BJP rally, 100 meters away by Suvendu Adhikari, were disturbing her meeting.
She claimed the incident was an "insult" and undemocratic and left after informing the audience that she would take legal steps against anyone responsible for this alleged crime. The close distance between the rallies resulted in confrontations, with TMC workers marching to the BJP rally, exchanging slogans, leading the police to intervene.
BJP leaders, including Amit Malviya, posted videos criticizing the event, saying it displays Mamata's fear. The incident has added to the political fight in the run-up to elections.
