In a nail-biting match professionally decided on the final ball, Gujarat Titans won their first of IPL 2026, defeating Delhi Capitals by a narrow 1-run margin on April 8 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Match 14.
GT recorded a good competitive score of 210/4, with Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar, and Jos Buttler contributing 70, 55, and 52, respectively. Rashid Khan took the ball and had collected 3/17 of the total.
DCease 211 DC remained alive thanks to the sensational 92 in 52 balls by KL Rahul. David Miller, formerly hurt in retirement following a hit in the hand, was back to blow a blazing 41 off in only 20 deliveries, including a huge six of 106 m. But, having 2 to run off 2 balls, Miller could have had a comfortable single on the last but 1, but he did not take it.
Kuldeep Yadav was then given a brilliant final ball, and Prasidh Krishna succeeded in a run-out today as DC came to an end at 209/8. Such an unpopular move by Miller has left a lot of controversy among fans and experts alike.
Such an exciting victory is a boost to GT and will make DC regret that they have missed the chance even though they have the fire to fight.
