To its surprise, the World Cricketers Association (WCA) published its new rankings of global T20 franchise leagues on March 19, 2026, assessing the leagues based on the welfare of their players as well as their rights, dispute philosophy, revenue, security, and professionalism.
The Hundred of England led the list with 75.2 points, and then the SA20 of South Africa with 68. Although the Indian Premier League (IPL) was the richest and highest-paying league in the world with the perfect score in the average payments and in the reliability, it was ranked behind Australia's Big Bash League (BBL) in the rank of 62.6—just one point higher.
Compared to the top two, the IPL did not succeed in such areas as the right to organize, dispute resolution mechanisms, and some rights of players. Other rankings are PSL (48), MLC (43), ILT20 (39.1), CPL (38.9), and Abu Dhabi T10 (30.1) as well as BPL (22.6).
The Leagues Hub to be established by the WCA is structured to indicate standards as suggested by players, and the presentations provoked the discussion regarding whether financial dominance is the prominence of the whole experience for the players.
