Vishal Sikka, former Infosys CEO and founder of Vianai Systems, spoke about the groundbreaking shift in productivity brought on by AI in a compelling interview. He shared a personal story in which he managed to completely reproduce a large-scale system that was meticulously developed by a team of over 500 engineers working round the clock for 2.5 years in less than an hour with the help of AI.

The work they once had to go through is "painful," with 15 hours per day, said Sikka, highlighting how AI is already affecting work: “The water is in our living room.” The companies need to rethink themselves quickly or face the risk of becoming obsolete, he said, and for the next couple of years he expects to see hundreds of AI agents for every worker.

This disclosure highlights the transition from manual to intelligent automation. Despite concerns regarding the impact on employment, Sikka believes that AI will open up new opportunities and transform jobs, not just replace them.
